Mirror, mirror on the wall
|
Behind a mirror the world appears to exist in a second dimension – but only in a mirror image. However, we learn at a very early age not to fall for this trick. There is nothing behind the mirror, it’s just a reflection. Mirrors are all around us: a polished shop window that reflects our image as we walk by, the mirrored surface of a lake that blinds us in the sun. Anything with such a perfectly smooth surface reflects light rays evenly and correctly and creates the appearance of a mirrored world. |
