Light - a flexible medium
|
Light can be used almost universally. Light can be bundled or scattered through lenses. It can be deflected off mirrors or sets of mirrors – the so-called mirror arrays – or directed by special light conductors. Other optical components can filter out the desired properties of light or alter them. Prisms or grids can scatter the light in individual colour components. Crystals can double frequencies and thereby change the colour of light. By combining many such components and using clever optic design, complex and high-performance systems can be created for all kinds of applications. |
