Light, vital to survival and all around us, the most natural thing in the world. But what is it and where does it come from? You can see it, you can feel it, but you can’t capture it and store it for later use on a day without light.

 It seems to be a wonderful substance, something that has kept scientists busy for centuries trying to find out just what it is.

Light has accompanied us along the long path of evolution and has played a major role in the development of the human race. But until we understood more about light we couldn’t devise ways of making it useful.
