There is a causal connection between the colour of light and the amount of energy in the light photons. The photons in red light transport less energy than the photons of blue light. Light as we know it is formed by an unimaginable number of light photons.

In these huge numbers the photons act like a wave, which is made up of wavelength and the height of the wave (amplitude). In comparison to red light, blue light has a shorter wavelength.
