The Fascination of Light exhibition has been a major highlight of the science and technology show in Athens, Greece, and has drawn large numbers of visitors of all ages in spite of the hot and sunny summer weather. It underlined the importance the Greek government and research ministry places on research and technology development. More than 2500 visitors took the opportunity to see the exhibition and to try out the interactive models and experiments.

The exhibition in Athens has been organised by the LASERLAB EUROPE partner IESL-FORTH in Heraklion, Crete. The Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser of the Foundation for Research and Technology- Hellas (IESL-FORTH) has established its presence in the areas of Laser Science, Microelectronics, Polymer Physics, Materials Science and Environmental studies with research activities ranging from fundamental studies to applied and technological research.
