What do you need
|
How do you perform the experiment?
Put the glass with water behind the empty CD box and place the candle at the same distance in front of it. Light the candle and look at the mirror image in the water.
What do you observe?
| Why does the candle seem to be in the glass with water? | yes | no |
| There is another candle in the glass with water, and you can see it only when you look at it trough the CD box | ||
| The CD-box works as a mirror and makes an image of the candle | ||
| The mirror image of the candle is visible behind the mirror | ||
| You can see the glass with water because the CD box is transparent | ||
| The mirror image of the candle is just at the same place as the glass with water |
| The image of an object in a mirror seems to be at the same distance behind the mirror as the object stands before the mirror. A CD box or a glass plate are partially transparent and at the same time partially reflecting. |
